Richard Schramm has been making photographs for over forty years, but only with his retirement in 2016 has he been able to devote full time and attention to his work. From his home in Carrboro, NC, he explores the South with his camera. His work has been selected for inclusion in the South Carolina Picture Project and has appeared in the Oxford American’s Eyes on the South series. His photographs have been included in exhibitions at the Frank Community Gallery in Chapel Hill, NC. In the spring of 2019 one of his photos appeared in South x Southeast’s exhibition “Our Common Core,” and in January, 2020, another of his images will be featured in an exhibition at the Southeastern Center for Photography in Greenville, SC.
