Neal retired in 2013 from a career as a financial executive with early-stage, venture capital financed technology companies. In retirement, he has expanded a longtime interest in photography to an active pursuit of pretty much anything outdoors, as well as anything involving his granddaughters. He is a member of the Georgia Nature Photographers Association and the Peachtree City Photography Club. His recent photo trips include Yellowstone National Park, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Cumberland Island, southwestern Montana, and the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. Neal regularly provides photos for use in media programs of conservation organizations such as Keep Georgia Beautiful and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
