About the Feather: Something was stabbing me in the arm as I watched TV. I ran my hand over the throw pillow and pulled out this feather.

The next day it was still on the coffee table so I took it into the studio. I shot it over 40 times with my venerable Nikon D7100 and a Tamron 60mm macro lens. This version was lit with a small LED source.

About the Hydrangea: I spent a lot of time just shooting the flower of this hydrangea cutting. I tried a couple of the whole stem and it just seemed too busy to me. Then I back-lit it with an LED panel at half strength. This is the result. Shot with a Nikon D7100 and an 18-55mm lens.

I have had a camera in my hands for as long as I can remember. I love the interplay between light and shadows and try to bring that fascination into my photographs.
