Lisa Flanary is a  recently retired Professor of Art (Photography) from Carson Newman University in Jefferson City Tennessee. She taught at CNU for 24 years. Lisa began her teaching career as an adjunct instructor at Walters State Community College in 1994. She earned an MFA from East Tennessee State University and a BA in History from Carson-Newman University. In 2016 Lisa established the Knoxville Community Darkroom.  The KCD supports analog photography and local artist with a darkroom space and a gallery.  As a fine art photographer she works with analog and digital processes. Lisa was born and raised in East Tennessee. Many of her photographs reflect both the landscape and the people of the area.
