Pat Willard is a San Francisco Bay Area-based fine art photographer and graphic designer. His enthusiasm for photography began when he took a class in college, where he observed the magic of an image slowly appearing on a blank sheet of gelatin silver printing paper. His working process remains dedicated to using film, and printing in the darkroom.

Depending on circumstance such as portability in travel, environment, and security, I will choose one or a pair of film cameras in small, medium or large format. For this image I used a 35mm camera that I’ve owned since 1993. The film was the wonderful (original version of) Agfa APX 100.
