Jennifer Baumann is a fine art photographer who lives and works in the Hudson Valley. She attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and received her BFA from Parsons School of Design in 1981.

Perhaps as a reaction to growing up in the grittiness and chaos of 1970s New York City, the images she creates tend to have a quiet, calm, often lonely atmosphere. In a previous life, Jennifer worked as a freelance editorial photographer. Her clients included the New York Times Magazine, Random House, Simon & Schuster, Prentice Hall, Sony Music, Atlantic Records, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Over the past decade Jennifer’s work has focused on both natural and industrial landscapes, and empty public spaces.

Jennifer’s photographs have been included in juried shows at A. Smith Gallery in Johnson City, TX; Praxis Gallery in Minneapolis, MN; N Y Center for Photographic Art; Jadite Gallery in New York; Plaxall Gallery in Long Island City; Foley Gallery in New York; and on The Curated Fridge.
