Photographed at the now-razed Wonderland Pier; Ocean City, New Jersey, a place rich with childhood memories and summer traditions, the Ferris Wheel is not just a ride, but a sculptural symbol of childhood thrill, architectural beauty, and collective memory. It is part of my ongoing series Amusement, a body of work dedicated to capturing the grandeur, motion, and nostalgic charm of iconic amusement rides.
Amusement explores the interplay between scale, symmetry, and the ephemeral nature of joy. These images invite reflection on how we move through spaces designed for delight and how those fleeting experiences are preserved in stillness. Through light, form, and movement, I hope to evoke not just what we see at the amusement park, but what we remember—and feel—long after the rides have stopped.
