Statement:
My art is influenced by the women in my life, my grandmother was a painter and my mother often did brightly colored tissue collages. Art has taken me through a variety of endeavors such as painting, sculpting, collages and more. What draws me to photography is the diversity I am given in this practice. It includes several of the art practices that I have done and puts them all in one place. Inspired by my heritage of of growing up in small southern towns, I developed deep-seated southern roots that richly inform my photography practice with visual storytelling. I am attracted to the diverseness of the human spirit, appreciating those qualities that make us delightfully unique, yet connected in many ways.
