bio:

Jason Paul Roberts is a multidisciplinary artist and storyteller whose work bridges photography, music, and social commentary. Born and raised in Chicago, Roberts discovered photography while studying music theory in Illinois, a turning point that shaped his creative path.

Roberts’ curiosity and passion for storytelling took him abroad, where he studied photojournalism under Magnum photographers Thomas Dworzak, Trent Parke, and Jacob Aue Sobol. He later earned a second degree in Multimedia Journalism and Contemporary Social Issues from Metropolitan State University of Denver, where he focused on the media’s impact on marginalized communities.

Roberts exhibits his work in galleries across Denver and New Orleans. He also gives lectures on street and documentary photography–discussing how he uses his lens to explore and amplify the human experience.

Roberts continues to live in Colorado, splitting his time between Denver, Atlanta, and New Orleans. When not behind the camera, he serves on the executive team of a nonprofit helping underserved children access quality education.
