Bruce started his photographic journey in the fall of 1969 and has been photographing to this day.  After receiving two degrees, (BS and MFA), he was invited to be a visiting artist in Great Britain.  In 2006 Bruce retired and returned to his childhood home where he has been photographically documenting this rural area of far west central Illinois.  This work has produced three books (Forgottonia, Forgttonia – The Audience, and Forgottonia – The Suburbs).  His work has been reviewed by Lenscratch, ACurator, aphotoeditor, PDN’s Photo of the Day, as well as participating in numerous group exhibitions throughout the United States.  Recent accomplishments were being invited to be a part of the LIGHT exhibition at the Center for Creative Photography, an exhibit honoring one of the first photographic galleries in New York City, and also invited to contribute to a documentary for the Illinois Humanities program.
