Mony Nation is a published photographer, writer, and designer who seeks to center Black lives, stories, and communities foremost as well as women from many ethnic backgrounds.

Having traveled the world to more than 30 countries, she draws a great deal of inspiration from the new environments in which she finds herself. She served as a co-editor for The MelaninLens Magazine as well as a contributing travel writer and photographer for MITH magazine.

Mony’s photographic works have been exhibited across the United States at venues that include the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art (LACDA), Venn.Bushwick, the Long Island Photo Gallery, Montgomery Photo Festival in both Montgomery and Troy University’s Huo Bao Zhu Gallery. She was also chosen to display one of her photographic works, “I See You Aleka,” in Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport’s main atrium alongside 21 other photographers until February 2023.

In 2022, Mony was invited by Alchemical Studios x Black Women’s March for International Women’s Day to screen her latest short video, Discovering Deloach: Filling the Genealogy Gaps.  Mony’s image “Hey” was IPA, International Photography Awards: Color, Official Selection and Jury Top 5 selection. She was named a 2022 LensCulture Critics Choice Award winner. In addition, Mony received 3rd place in the fashion/editorial category for BIFA 2022 Foto Awards for her on-going butterfly series.
