Anthony Striplen is a self-taught photographer. His work ranges from emotive portraits, musicians and pictures on the road. Photography gradually emerged over time while in the midst of a 40 year career as a professional musician. The transition from creating sound to creating visuals was a natural blending of disciplines – aspects of each discipline had always been present, only the focus, and therefore the result, has shifted. Anthony is originally from Bakersfield, California, a place still infused with the sounds of country western, blues, rock and mariachi music. He currently resided in the San Francisco Bay Area.
