Bio:
Born in Washington, DC, I grew up surrounded by art. I earned a BA in French (Emory University) and an MA in English (University of Pittsburgh). During summer studies in
Avignon, France, I explored the Louvre and a host of other galleries. My early photography focused on intimate landscapes. Now, I create images that do not exist in the real world, but rely on form, texture, and color to open the viewer’s mind to emotion and myth. They can be abstract or edge toward the representational –but always with a twist, tickling the edges of the imagination. My work has been juried into exhibitions in the US, Canada, the UK, and Europe, including permanent exhibits in Italy and Maryland. I have also been featured in ICM Photo Magazine, Digital Camera World, Canvas Rebel, etc.

Statement:
I am a fine art photographer who uses techniques like intentional camera movement and multiple exposure to build imaginary worlds that often veer into the mythical and
surreal. Like an alchemist, I find tiny jewels in nature, then alter them to create new realities infused with hints of spirituality and dreams. And like four-year-old Harold in the classic book, Harold and the Purple Crayon, I am a visual storyteller, creating a scene, then – emotionally and spiritually – walking into it. It becomes real to me.
My work has been displayed in galleries in the United States, Canada, England, and Europe.
Prominent photographer/journalist Susan Burnstine said about my work: “We don’t see the world like this; you show us the world like this.”
The chosen image, Golden Silence, is a quiet reflection on the passage of time and of nature’s renewal. As such, it is a composition of serene contemplation.
