Bio:
I am a street photographer living in Washington, DC. I was briefly a city planner, but I’ve always been a people watcher. I’ve had a love for classic street photography since I was a young child, long before I knew it had a name, after being exposed to the book ‘The Family of Man.’
Not until a few years ago, once my kids were grown, did I take up the challenge of photographing in the streets myself. I am drawn to ordinary people doing ordinary things. To me, it’s all extra-ordinary—emotion, gesture, connection, and humor. We humans are so much more the same than we are different, and hopefully my photos remind people of that.
My photos have been exhibited both at home and internationally, including street photography festivals in Miami and Brussels. I am part of the DC Street Photography Collective. I have been a photo curator on Instagram and Facebook and curated a physical exhibition and companion book of street photography by women, ‘Half the Sky,’ in Tokyo in 2024 for Ephemere.
