BIO:
I’ve been a fine art and commercial photographer since 1982. I’ve exhibited my work extensively in galleries in the US, Barcelona, Florence and England and have won numerous awards for my fine art photography and architectural photography. Most of my commercial work has been for Home&Garden magazines in England and South Africa. I also owned an art gallery in Boulder, Colorado specializing in South African art and photography.
STATEMENT:
A Shamanistic View of Nature
I don’t presume to call myself a shaman, however, I have the sensitivities to the natural world as expressed by many shamans. Synesthesia is integral in my work and arises in unexpected moments. I see nature through my ears or hear through my eyes. These images can be heard as they speak to the inner, contemplative aspect of our own nature. Personally, they are self- portraits and have been beneficial in revealing the longing within to connect with the divine. The work always precedes my understanding of it and there is no intention beforehand. The images themselves direct me to their final disposition.
